Niigaki Risa posted on her blog that her Grandmother passed away last March 9, 2012 at the age of 78

Gaki expressed her gratitude to the doctors who cared for her grandma for 10 years. She also quoted the title of her post as "An Important Person", sharing that she had always lived with her grandmother since she was born and how supportive her grandma is.
